An online chronicle of hope, healing, and humanity from Boothbay and beyond, created by Peter in 2020.
Peter Bruun created Yarrow & Cleat in Spring 2020 to help him make sense of a COVID-19 world. In sharing authentic messages of grace and beauty, his goal was to illuminate our collective resilience, hope, and fellowship.
During the height of the pandemic, Peter produced a slate of articles, illustrations, and the occasional video on a weekly basis. Organized around specific features such as Neighbor Tales, Nature’s Way, Art Spot, and Reflection, the online magazine offered a little bit of something for everyone.
In the several months of Yarrow & Cleat’s most active phase, more than 6,000 individual users visited the website. From time to time, Peter writes a new article, alerting his subscribers whenever he does so.
“Yarrow & Cleat has the kind of vulnerability, beauty and depth that I find so often missing in religious community. There is something in this project that is a wonder—a gift and grace to our community. A source of hope and joy in a time when we all need it.”
