Reasons to Believe

A partnership with the Safe & Sound Campaign to support its After School Strategy, Reasons to Believe featured 37 paintings about why adults should believe in them by Baltimore City youth and 37 paintings by Bruun exhibited alongside.

Held at the Contemporary Museum in Baltimore, Reasons to Believe emphasized above all the paintings by the participating youth, with Peter Bruun's paintings (metallic gold forms against a white ground hung on a cobalt blue wall) playing a subservient role, marking each youth's expression as something to value.

An advocacy event was held for participating youth, their families, philanthropists, and members of Baltimore City government. The project proved a perfect marriage of art and advocacy.
