International Overdose Awareness Day is observed globally on August 31 to remember without stigma those who have died from overdose, and acknowledge the grief of the family and friends left behind. In 2023, in partnership with Healthy Lincoln County and dozens of other organizations and programs, we presented to wide acclaim 716 Candles, five events throughout Lincoln County attended by hundreds. As follow-up, in 2024 Studio B is presenting 19 Towns, 19 Stories, a project shedding light on untold narratives of Lincoln County residents grappling with the impact of SUD. Personal stories form a 48-page book, online gallery, exhibition, and 19 International Overdose Awareness Day events to foster understanding, offer compassion, and drive grassroots change.
